Wimbledon Rules

Jul 3rd, 2008 by Jiri

As I am covering Wimbledon Tennis Championships again this year, I have realised that this is probably one of the very few venues, where journalists have less rights than others. Well, in some respect. As I sat with my camera into the writing press box on Court 2, I was reminded a couple of times by the staff, that I am not allowed to take pictures. My daughter who sat on a “normal” visitor seat on the same court made about 50 snaps of the sisters Williams at the same time. What a change 15 pounds entry fee and absence of a Press Pass makes.

Of course, she did not have the free lemonade we get in the Press Centre together with three anouncements of each press conference.
